Joanna Bloor, Founder of The Amplify Lab, believes that it’s time for us humans to rethink how we prepare for the future of work. The what, where, when and how of work is changing —and so is the who. Joanna’s on a mission to help us prepare for the big leap into the working future. To uncover and articulate our human value and our place in the next chapter of the working world. No big deal. A self-described “startup junkie”, Joanna spent her career scaling and building brands like Ticketmaster, Cars.com, OpenTable and Pandora. Known for building teams, infrastructure and revenue strategies through their moments of acceleratin ggrowth and rapid change; Joanna did so in environments where there were no rulebooks, no career paths, no precedents of how things “should” be done. Joanna’s a veteran of playing in the undefined future. A fateful conversation in line at the TED 2016 Conference that led to her realization that the language of humans, how we talk about ourselves and others in the working world, needed to shift. “There isn’t a business leader today who doesn’t think about the potential of their business, products and technology – about how they will solve problems of and in the future. Yet when we talk about the people who create those businesses, products and technologies, we talk about their skills, productivity and titles -all linear and mechanistic language of the past. We need to shift the way we speak about human talent, after all, don’t we hire people to solve problems of the future? Shouldn’t we recognize those people for the future-focused work they do by using multidimensional, potential-oriented language?”–Joanna Bloor
Companies such as Microsoft, Philips, TED, Salesforce, GE, Content Asia, PayPal and Ernest Young have brought in Joanna to work with employees from recent grads to the executive teams (C-Levels).
